Prof Dr Hans Peter Schwintowski

As a lawyer and proven expert specialising in areas such as energy law, commercial and corporate law and European law, Prof. Dr Schwintowski works at numerous institutes in Germany. In particular, through his position as scientific director and managing director of the EWeRK - Institute for Energy and Competition Law in the Municipal Economy at Humboldt University in Berlin - he has been able to distinguish himself as an expert and central contact for all-encompassing topics (energy supply and change, regulatory and legal development topics, sustainability in the Taxonomy Regulation and the greenhouse gas quota) in the emission-intensive energy and supply industry. He is in constant and close contact with the participating industry, trade and regulatory authorities as well as the BMWK (Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection).

In addition to several supervisory and advisory board functions, he is co-editor of various specialist and industry journals for the energy and insurance sector. Until 2010, he was a member of the Insurance Advisory Board of the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority.

Prof Dr Schwintowski supports Silva Viridis with his expertise, experience and specialist knowledge in regulatory legal and economic issues in emissions trading, with a focus on the energy and emissions-intensive industries and the insurance sector - both sectors for which sustainability (ESG) and carbon neutrality are a central and increasingly important topic. In addition to his skills and industry expertise, his network in the relevant sectors (energy and insurance) strengthens us; he is in close dialogue with us in order to develop and offer innovative, legally compliant and industry-oriented solutions for our clients and partners.
