Cicero: Bundestag decides to significantly increase the CO₂ price.

In its press release dated 31 January 2025, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy states under the title "Bundestag adopts comprehensive reform of emissions trading":

"The draft also lays the foundation for the transition to the new European emissions trading scheme for transport and heat ('ETS-2'), which will be introduced from 2027 and replace the German fuel emissions trading scheme under the Fuel Emissions Trading Act (BEHG)."
